English Edition of Jnanpith Winner’s Autobiography Released in Gujarat

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel recently released the English edition of “Finding Gattu,” the autobiography of the famous Gujarati writer and Jnanpith Award winner Shri Pannalal Patel. The book is an English version of Pannalal Patel’s original Gujarati autobiography, translated by his granddaughter Natasha Patel Nema.
At the release event in Ahmedabad, the Chief Minister emphasized the encouragement of writers, artists, and art under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The state government is committed to supporting those who are trying to come forward and provide them with the platform they need.
The Chief Minister praised the life of Pannalal Patel, calling him a truly rare personality. He also applauded Natasha Patel Nema for bringing her grandfather’s inspiring life journey to the attention of today’s youth through her fresh perspective in the English translation.
According to the Chairman of Gujarat Sahitya Akademi, Bhagyesh Jha, “Finding Gattu” depicts the thoughts and life events of Pannalal Patel, including his close relationships with Gujarati literary figures. The book offers a unique perspective on the life and work of the famous writer, and his impact on the Gujarati literary scene.
The release of “Finding Gattu” was attended by members of Pannalal Patel’s family, as well as literature lovers and dignitaries such as Naroda MLA Dr. Payal Kukrani. This English edition of Pannalal Patel’s autobiography provides a wider audience with the opportunity to learn about the life and legacy of one of Gujarat’s most celebrated writers.
